The Creation Of Enemies

Part V

THAT EVIL EMPIRE continued                         (Go to Part I)

There has been so much fabrication that it is impossible to know what is true. I am satisfied that, of the citizens of those Soviet communities who welcomed the German armies and were the contacts for the saboteurs flown into those countries, and thus were a threat to the security of this new nation, a minimum of six to seven million were relocated to Siberia. This was a full-fledged war and the Soviets knew it. Former attach‚ to the Soviet Embassy George Kennan, undoubtedly the U.S. citizen most knowledgeable about those times (one of the prime promoters of the Cold War, and one who had a change of heart about the morality of that deception), is quoted as saying that those executed were in the tens of thousands, meaning the total is likely under one hundred thousand.24 Tens of thousands is still a very large number to be sure, but, even though many were innocent, a large number were attempting to overthrow that new government, and that is a capital offense in most countries.

Many innocent people were swallowed up in this mass hysteria. The Soviets are now opening their records and restoring the good names of these people. Historians are tracing what happened to each individual so their families can know their fate. Perhaps the world may someday know the true numbers of those unjustly persecuted souls.* Lately, whenever the subject comes up in the news I notice phrasing such as, "had their lives damaged by Stalinism." This is entirely different than "sixty million executed" and suggests the media is (sic) well aware they were deceived and, in turn, deceived the public. If "damaged lives" are the criterion, then that damage must be compared with the damage other countries inflict on minorities within their own societies and on other societies, including that done by trade wars and covert wars.

I still caution the reader on the statistics that will be published. Reinhard Heydrich, deputy chief of Hitler's SS, operated a covert operation that counterfeited letters from top Soviet military officers to falsely indicate a counterrevolution by these officers. Possibly thirty-five thousand highly loyal officers were executed. After World War II, copying Heydrich's successful destabilization efforts, Western secret services counterfeited papers and letters that caused massive arrests of innocent people in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Citizens of the West heard all about the repressions but nothing about the cause or that when the Soviets caught on to the scam they released those imprisoned, and even paid compensation to an American couple who were caught up in that intrigue and imprisoned for several years.25

One also must remember the nearly successful bringing of rights to the common people by the French Revolution and the destruction of Napoleon's reputation when he tried to complete that task. Even as the Russian revolution succeeded, the British were attempting to destroy Lenin's reputation to the world. By the same methods that destroyed Napoleon's reputation, that of the leaders of the Bolshevik Revolution will be destroyed.26 It will be done by financing already highly-biased historians to research executions, point out the total innocence of those executed, ignore the counterfeit papers fingering innocent people at the same time that massive amounts of money were being spent to overthrow the govemment. The alert can watch this process unfold. Altemative views typically find little financing and, due to the already programmed masses, no audience. A created enemy continues to control a population even after the defeat of that enemy. Major publishers only publish books they think they can make a profit on, and there will be little audience for a challenging viewpoint.†

While the Soviets were taking drastic measures to prevent counterrevolution, idealistic believers in Marx's theories were restructuring the Soviet economy along his precepts. Like Americans after they became free, these people were proud of their revolution and worked hard to build their country. Older Americans will remember the many stories about slave conditions in the Soviet Union. We all know that slaves are not proud of their oppressors' property nor will they work hard to build it. That 85 percent of German firepower was expended against the Soviet Union, and that the Soviets willingly sacrificed a third of their prime labor to defeat that assault is proof that most Soviets were proud and highly patriotic.

The Soviet centralized economy worked well to build heavy industry and a basic infrastructure to repulse the onslaught of the German armies. Then, from their extremely weak condition after World War II, the Soviets had to rebuild their country, offset the ring of military threat being again being built around them, and build industry for their civilian economy. They built industry faster than ever before in history, raised their heavy industry to almost par with the United States, and offset the military forces surrounding them. But that left little for the civilian economy and, as chapters 10 and 12 will demonstrate, this--as well as faulty ideology--is why their nation collapsed.

A COLD WAR IS A WEAPON

The fabrications described in this chapter were all perpetrated by powerful people to slow down or, if possible, prevent a rekindling in the social memory of the rights known in the Free Cities of Europe, the taking away of those rights, and prevent the regaining of those rights by the common people.‡ It only required a change of names to fit whomever the power brokers perceived as a threat to their power. Once people obtained rights (especially the vote), how else could a power structure deal with any group that took those rights seriously and offered a greater share of the wealth to the common people? Powerful leaders used the rhetoric of enmity to motivate the people to destroy what was a threat only to those in power.

In these battles for minds, it is certain that almost all except the originators of those fabrications are largely unaware they are being manipulated.‡‡ This includes the secondary echelons of power. Since they are unaware of the original fiction, when they move to the top, the belief system becomes complete. Being unaware of the background, the threat looks real. At times it becomes real; the attacks by an enraged or frightened population upon those targeted as the enemy trigger fear and a defensive reaction in those under threat. That defense, of course, appears threatening to the deeply biased original aggressors.

Throughout history hundreds of millions of common people have died violently protecting, not themselves, but whoever was in power (emphasis added by owner of this website). Of course, while innocent people are slaughtering other innocent people, the hands of the perpetrators of these fabrications remain spotlessly clean and their personal lives undamaged. It is time to analyze how enemies are created and, just as in the constitution of the former Soviet Union, make it illegal to attack and degrade another society.§ Whenever someone raises the war cry of an enemy, he or she should be taken to task for that disregard for the rights of all people to be left in peace. That disregard for others' rights in the past has created the enormous waste of trade wars, cold wars, covert wars, and hot wars which are but different levels of battle for control of people, resources, and trade.

The Creation of Enemies (Part I)

* Don't count on this becoming well known in the West, and be prepared for further misinformation. One of the primary jobs of intelligence services is to control the writing of history. Expect books and studies that will totally destroy the reputations of the primary intellectuals and leaders of the defeated ideology. This is the ongoing control of the paradigm of thought. To leave the reputation of these foundation philosophers and leaders intact is to leave their work open for inspection and acceptance by future philosophers. But with a destroyed reputation, their concepts will seldom be looked at and the few who do study them with an open mind will find no followers. Destroying a reputation is not hard to do. Like the twenty five to thirty fraudulent books written, published and distributed per year during the Cold War, it is only necessary to put a little money behind already ideologically committed histonans, pick and choose statements among millions of files, and if necessary place a few counterfeits among those files. Such control of history is absolutely crucial to corrupt power structures maintaining their power.

† There will be a few scholarly works which will tell parts of the story. But it will be difficult for scholars to put it all together, and besides, there will be massive material which will be the history the power brokers want told. Future masses will be in the dark and, so long as their living standards do not collapse, they will not, as a group, become aware. Only if those living standards totally collapse can philosophers point to those earlier revolutions, tell the whole story, and gain an audience.

‡ Even though full rights were still not accorded in those free cities, the basic format was there in the guilds and folkmotes (community councils) organized under the principles of mutual support and equality for all.

‡‡ Milton Mayer fled ahead of the Jewish Holocaust and returned to Germany after the war to find out how the German population had been guided to commit mass murder. The ten Germans he interviewed over a period of two years informed him they thought they were free. They were not being persecuted; it was those commumsts and Jews who were a threat. Mayer concluded it was all done with a cold war identical to the one being waged in the United States ever since World War II. Mayer thus titled his book, They Thought They Were Free. As the last chapter demonstrated, it was attempts to break the British stranglehold on trade that led to World War I. Thus, to gain the allegiance of its citizens and allies, the battle between Britain and the emerging economic power of Germany also featured a cold war on each side. Prior to World War II, this rhetoric was escalated and enemies were the crucial element of that rhetoric. Part of this propaganda effort was to gain support of outside powers. Before and at the beginning of both World War I and World War II, Britain used all these deceptions to get the United States into the war on their side. When France and Britain were battling for domination of the world, their secret services practiced this same destruction of each others' reputation. Earlier, the reputation of Spain had been effectively destroyed by British and French writing of history.

§ I am not suggesting that the leaders of the Soviet Union were blameless of such actions themselves. They had their own goals, internally and externally, and sought to gain power by motivating their citizens to unite against a "common enemy": the United States. But over the years we have been told so much about the use of such "unfair" tactics and "brainwashing" that I felt it was essential to demonstrate that this happens in the United States as well.
